Bukoba Municipal Teachers in 2007, decided to have a SACCOS known as Bukoba Municipal Teachers Savings and Credit Co-operative Society Limited (BUMUTE SACCOS Ltd). The main goal being to have their own financial services tool for its members in accordance with the procedures they set for themselves. BUMUTE SACCOS LTD is operated and guided by the Law of Cooperative Societies No. 6 of 2013, the Law of Minor Feha Services No. 10 of 2018, Cooperative Societies Regulations of 2015, Small Financial Services (SACCOS) Regulations of 2019, Conditions of Association, Policy and General Meeting Orders, Strategic Plan (2021 – 2025) and this Business Plan 2021 - 2023.
This Business Plan is a special resource and part of the implementation of various plans of the Association. Due to the growth of the Association, the increase in various operational and market challenges as well as the legal requirements in the management of SACCOS Tanzania, we have found it best to have this Business Plan to implement our strong vision for the next three years ie 2021 - 2023. Based on the requirements of the Cooperative Societies Law No. 6 of 2013 and the Small Financial Services Law No. 10 of the year 2018, BUMUTE SACCOS Ltd has been providing loans to its members on the basis of savings.
The Association has continued to grow and witnessed an increase in Members from 20 in 2007 to 285 Members in June 2019. In addition, until June 2020 the Association had successful growth in various areas such as Property growing up to Tsh. 1 billion, savings Tsh. 581 million, Loans to members Tsh. 690 million and members' shares Tsh. 63 million.
